Though a little more than a proverbial ‘dot‘ on the world map, the region of Awadh (Lucknow in particular), played a role beyond significance, and is acknowledged rightly so for enriching the composite Indian culture.
With origins in Delhi, the Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb was taken to the zenith of sophistication by its later day patrons in Lucknow. The Nawabs of Awadh are known less for their victories in wars and more for the traditions and culture they nourished and developed.
Come with us, as we walk the talk through the life and times of the rulers of Awadh on a walk at the mausoleum of the second Nawab, Abul Mansur Mirza Muqim Ali Khan (Safdarjung).
